Illinois Claims Seventh Straight Big Ten Championship

FRENCH LICK, Ind. -- Illinois won its seventh straight Big Ten Championship, 12th in the last 13 years, shooting a three-round score of 885 (+21) at the 2022 Big Ten Men's Golf Championships at the Pete Dye Course at the French Lick Resort. 

Illinois was followed by Michigan State (886) in second place, Maryland (887) in third place, Northwestern (890) in fourth, and Wisconsin (891) in fifth. The Gophers finished in 10th place with a three-round score of 907.

Northwestern's David Nyjfall claimed medalist honors with a three-round total of 215 (-1), the only player in the field to finish under par. Illinois' Adrien Dumont de Chassart finished in second place with an even par score of 216, Maryland's Dhaivat Pandya and Michigan State's August Meekhof tied for third with a 217 (+1) total, and Wisconsin's Coalter Smith rounded out the top five with a 218 (+2) total. Gopher sophomore Ben Warian finished tied for 21st with a 225 (+9) total.
