Additional Information

FORMAT:
Teams are comprised of two players.  The field will play three different formats - Alternate Shot (Holes #1-6), Four-Ball (Holes #7-12) and Scramble (Holes #13-18) - as outlined below. Scoring will be on a NET basis with handicaps prorated for each format.

Alternate Shot:  One player will tee off on the even holes while the other player will tee off on the odd holes.  The players will alternate shots until the ball is holed.  Who holed the putt will have no bearing on who plays from the next tee.  Likewise, penalty strokes do not affect the order of play.
Four-Ball:  Often referred to as "best ball," both players will play their own ball into the hole with the team score being the best of the two scores for each hole.
Scramble:  Each player will play from the teeing area, and the team selects which ball it wishes to play.  Both players play from that new spot with the team again selecting the ball they wish to play.  This format continues until the ball is holed and repeated on each hole.  NOTE: The first player should NOT tap in a putt if their partner has a putt remaining for a lower score.

Ties:
In the event of a tie for first in any flight, the tie will be broken by using a scorecard playoff following the recommended procedure found in the Official Guide to the Rules of Golf.

Schedule:
8:30 am shotgun - Flights 1-5
2:00 pm shotgun - Flights 6-10

Flights:
Flights will be determined after registration has closed.  A team will be assigned to a flight based on the lower Handicap Index® of the two team members at the deadline.  A Flight Report will be published after flights have been established.

Practice Rounds:
Practice rounds are available.  Contact Hastings Golf Club (651/437-4210) and identify yourself as an MGA Women's Team/Club contestant.  The fee may vary depending upon the day and time you play..

Driving Range:
Range balls will be provided free of charge prior to play. The range will be open at least 60 minutes prior to the first shotgun.
