About the Jim Mendesh Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship honors Jim Mendesh, a self-taught craftsman who put a strong work ethic and a passion for hands-on work to good use.  In his memory, his family wants to support students who share his same applied, skilled approach in pursuit of their career aspirations.

The scholarship is available to students pursuing a certificate or associate’s degree in a skilled trade at an accredited vocational or technical school (i.e., electrician, construction, HVAC, medical assistant, teacher’s aide, etc.)*.  Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates who reside in Minnesota and have a strong connection to the sport of golf (i.e., caddie experience, current or former high school golf team member, employed at a golf facility, parent or guardian employed at a golf facility). The two-year scholarship is $2,500 per year and renewable for the second year.  Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).  Applicants must plan to enroll in full-time study at an accredited two-year college or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
