Heide, Nordstrom, Utter and Volling Winners at MGA Net Team Championship

  NISSWA, Minn. – Carding a total of 82 Stableford points during the final day of competition Wednesday at The Preserve at Grand View Lodge, the foursome of Ryan Heide, Erik Nordstrom, William Utter and Justin Volling earned a two-point victory at the 30th Minnesota Golf Association Net Team Championship.

Erasing a two-point deficit when the tournament changed courses for the second round, the team was led by Heide and Volling on the final day, each gaining a total of 36 points in a winning effort.

The team of Steve Forsberg, Jack Mateffy, Ron Rollins and David Wilson jumped out to the early lead during Tuesday’s opening round at The Pines at Grand View Lodge with 82 points.

During Wednesday’s final round, the squad was carried by Wilson and Forsberg, who combined to tally 72 points to fall two points short of the winning team.

Robert Arusell, Phil Link, Paul Nordeen and Tom Thompson posted a 36-hole tally of 152 points to finish tied for third with the team of John McEnroe, Bill Pool, Scott Thompson and Roger Weber.
