MGA Launches Social Media Influencer Campaign

Maple Grove’s Josh Miller to hit the road and visit more than 60 MGA member golf facilities around the state this summer.

EDINA, Minn. (June 14, 2021) – The Minnesota Golf Association is pleased to announce the launch of the 2021 Driving Minnesota Tour with Josh Miller on June 14, with Miller’s initial visit to Brookview Golf Course in Golden Valley, Minn. Miller, 19, is a former MN Youth on Course member and is currently attending Northwestern University where he is studying Journalism and Economics. He is hitting the road this summer to profile 60-plus MGA member golf clubs around the state, and use social media to reach the “next generation” of golfers, young adults ages 18 to 34.  

Miller will be posting a variety of photos, videos and news content on Instagram and Twitter designed to appeal to a younger demographic. He intends to shine a positive spotlight to each course and golf in general with compelling stories. Miller plans to play rounds with fellow social media influencers, and notable local players and personalities with a focus on the MGA-related programs that benefit all golfers around the state.

“According to the National Golf Foundation, three million people picked up the game for the first time in 2020,” said Warren Ryan, MGA Director of Communications, adding, “there are nearly six million 18-to-34 year olds who play the game – if Josh can engage the beginner and the young adult golfer alike with informative and entertaining social media content about golf in Minnesota, it’s a win-win for the game and our member clubs.”
