The Jewel Golf Club

Hole 11

With gorgeous fairways rolling through towering trees, The Jewel beckons golfers to come experience its remarkable beauty. A variety of holes and unique green structures won’t overwhelm higher handicap players, yet allow lower handicappers to revel in the challenge.

No. 11 fits that bill. A curving par 3 nestled between encroaching hardwoods left and an unforgiving pond right includes five different tees (two that avoid a watery forced carry). A series of three sparkling bunkers front and right at water’s edge provides a small beach bailout for those fading (or drawing) a bit too much. Players should carry their ball all the way up the left side of the long, sloping green or risk fishing for it on the right.

“You don’t necessarily have to hit the green to make par,” says head golf professional Keith Kalny. “Three’s a good score, but a four isn’t bad either.”
