Hole 10

The longest par-5 in Red Wing (and in Minnesota) is Highlands No. 10, a long, curving dogleg-right surrounded by towering trees. A solid and straight drive puts you in a great position for a second shot around the corner.

“Part of the challenge is from the tee to the fairway, as it drops about 125 feet into troublesome woods,” says head golf professional Nathan Gale. “So you want to hit it straight.”

An MNGL in painted rocks is planted on the left side of the dogleg, perhaps offering respite from the difficulty ahead—as attacking the green on your second shot could leave you engulfed by trees near the green.

It’s best to play this No. 2 handicap hole as a three-to-four shot approach and walk to No. 11 with a sly par or quick bogey to start your back nine.
