Hole 4

This “tale of two nines” course includes the deceptively short and flat No. 4. Water sits on the right and OB comes in from the left. A hook left off the tee may result in a chip from pine straw or possibly a meet-up with nearby homeowners.

“The tee shot invites you to hit driver because it’s kind of open, but at about 230-240, the water starts to come into play,” says head professional Tim Huffman.

Play short of the water right and chip softly into the rollaway green. The back left and right edges run away from the green. A large bunker guards the green front left, and water encircles it on the right.

The front nine may be among the best walking nines in the state, but the hilly back nine will challenge you. So, grab a birdie or par here for some momentum before the inward nine.

“It’s a risk and reward, but the reward isn’t worth the risk.” —Tim Huffman
