Ms. and Mr. Minnesota Golf Finalists Announced

EDINA, Minn. (June 8, 2022) -- The Ms. and Mr. Minnesota Golf Committee is pleased to announce the 2022 finalists of top female and male high school senior golfers in Minnesota. They are:

Brady Baynes, Eden Prairie

Peyton Coahran, New London-Spicer
Charlie Nasby, Edina

From the group of finalists, two individual golfers will be presented with the award, Ms. and Mr. Minnesota Golf, at 6 p.m., Sunday June 12 at Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence, Minn.

Justin Smith, 39, of St. Paul, will be the keynote speaker. Smith, the University of Minnesota Men’s Golf Head Coach, is one of the most decorated players in the program’s history. A key figure in the team’s appearance in the NCAA Finals three consecutive years from 2001 to 2003, Smith rolled in the clinching putt on the 18th hole to secure the Gophers’ 2002 NCAA Championship title. Since he joined the program as a coach, the Gophers have earned a Big Ten Individual title, a top-three finish at the Big Ten Championships, four PING All-Region honorees, three NCAA Regional qualifiers and a pair of All-Big Ten selections. Smith was inducted into the ‘M’ Club Hall of Fame in 2018. 

About the Ms. and Mr. Minnesota Golf Award
The annual award was created in 2016 to recognize the outstanding male and female high school senior golfer based on their performance on the golf course, academic achievement and strength of character. Finalists are chosen by a committee of high school coaches and amateur golf representatives.
