2023 MGA SENIOR AMATEUR ENTRY PROCESS
Saturday, July 1, is the opening day for general registration for this year’s MGA Senior Amateur Championship, set for September 25-27 at Wayzata Country Club.

Due to the late date, the starting field has been reduced to 144 players in order for play to be completed each day. There are approximately 60 on the Priority Registration List by virtue of their position on the 2022 Senior Player Points List, being a host club exemption or having made the cut in last year’s Championship. Thus, there will be about 80 spots open on July 1.

Given the host site (Wayzata), we are anticipating many more entries than available spots. The desire is to have a fair and equitable opportunity for all to be able to enjoy the Championship. To that end, the remaining entries will be determined by using a lottery.

As per the Priority Registration List, nine (9) spots are guaranteed for the Grand Master Division. The actual number of entries to be accepted will be known by June 30. During the Open Registration period, players will be able to enter beginning at 8:30 am on July 1 through 11:59 pm July 15.

The field will be set by random draw. After the field is decided another drawing will then be made for position on the wait list. There will not be a benefit to enter first thing nor will there be a disadvantage to entering last minute. No credit card charges will be processed until a player is confirmed into the field.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us as follows: Tom Ryan (Tom@mngolf.org) or Doug Hoffmann (Doug@mngolf.org).

Thank you for your interest in, and support of, the MGA Championship Program!

Cheers-
